This day marks 244 years since the thirteen colonies declared independence from British rule. Our founding fathers wanted freedom from unfair taxation and a better representation of the people, be “We the People.” A declaration stating, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
Today, we acknowledge the hard work it takes to live out our founding fathers’ quest. A young nation declaring the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for its people takes time, consideration, and sacrifice. As we celebrate our inalienable rights, let us remember our path to uphold these rights for all people is not over.
I want to thank our servicemen and women in the armed forces for their countless sacrifices and dedication to our country’s freedom. God Bless them wherever they are around the world ensuring our safety. A special thank you to our Veterans as well. Thank you for your bravery in building our nation, protecting our nation, and fighting for the prosperity of freedom to your fellow citizens.

This newsletter is in honor of you, William Anthony Tripp. You gave so much of your life serving in the United States Army, the Reserves, and the New Mexico National Guard.
